FROM STUFFING TO HUFFING TRAINING PROGRAM

Kick-off celebration on 9/21 from 6:30 – 7:30pm at Schnee’s, 35 E. Main!
 
Bobby from Excel PT (DPT, COMT, DIP, MT, FAAOMPT) w​ill lead a 15 minute talk on running injury prevention and tips for running on ice.​ Curt and Company from Schnee’s will be on hand ​​t​o ​make sure you walk out with happy feet​ – that your new running shoes fit properly from heel to toe.
 
Schedule:
 
Shoe and sock fitting: 6:30pm – 7:15pm
Excel PT Presentation and Q&A: 7:15pm – 7:30
 
Training Program Details
 
Sundays (beginning on 9/24 through 11/19) from 9:30am – 10:30am and Wednesdays from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, 602 Bond Street.
 
Training sessions are loosely modeled after Couch to 5k programs. Each session should take only 30 minutes once we get started. The idea is to get people of ALL abilities and aspirations excited about running and have FUN! An hour is allotted to allow time for introductions/instructions and warm up and cool down time. The HFS Training Program will provide 2 of 3 weekly workout sessions.

 

VIRTUAL RACE BAGS

We are transitioning to a Virtual Race bag to further assist our efforts in making our event ‘GREEN’. The link to the Virtual Race coupons will be emailed to you race week.

KIDS’ UNDER 10 CAN RUN FOR $10!

This is an UNTIMED event for runners and walkers that are under 10 years old and do not wish to have t-shirt or have their race timed. If you would like a shirt your your child, please register for the regularly priced events. When signing up make sure you choose the correct EVENT: 5k Fun Run (UNTIMED RACE) Youth 10 and under.

COSTUMES

HFS encourages you, your friends, and your family to have a great time and dress up on Thanksgiving!

Please be mindful of how your costume may affect others and possibly diminish their enjoyment of the race.

Do:

-Be creative!
-Research before creating your costume to ensure you are not disrespecting someone’s identity
-Characters (but still be mindful on this one)
-FOOD!
-Have fun
-Be family friendly

Don’t:

Change your skin color. (black, red, yellow, brown face)
-Dress up as a culture that isn’t your own (“Indian”, “Native American”, “Mexican”, “Latinx”, “Chinese”, etc)
-Dress as characters that trivialize injustices done to minority groups
-Wear anything with offensive phrases
